The first and last names are transmitted to Moodle by the central UHH-Login service of the University of Hamburg.
Moodle uses the display name and stores the name components in the corresponding profile fields.
The first and last names are updated each time you log in. It is not possible to change them manually in Moodle. This ensures that it is clear who has submitted an assignment or conducted an exam.
Note on short-term IDs
Since no names are stored for short-term IDs, a generic name is generated in Moodle. The first name corresponds to “Kurzzeit (sa█████)” and the last name to ”Kennung”.
