The first and last names are transmitted to Jupyter by the central UHH-Login service of the University of Hamburg.
Jupyter uses the display name and stores the name components in the databases of the enrolled nbgrader courses.
The
first and last names are updated each time you log in. It is not
possible to change them manually in Jupyter. This ensures that it is
clear who has submitted an assignment or conducted an exam.
Note on short-term IDs
Since
no names are stored for short-term IDs, a generic name is generated in Jupyter. The first name corresponds to “Kurzzeit (sa█████)” and the last
name to ”Kennung”.
