The email address is transferred to Moodle by the central UHH-Login service of the University of Hamburg during the initial registration process.
It is not possible to change this manually in Moodle. This ensures that a valid email address is stored for contact purposes.
Students and employees at the University of Hamburg are each assigned their own email addresses. However, the central UHH-Login service only transmits one email address and prefers the work address.
Therefore, all email addresses in Moodle are automatically synchronized every night according to the following rules:
- For students who are not pursuing a doctorate, the student email address is always used.
- For employees, doctoral candidates, and external parties, the stored work email address is used.
In the case of former students who are now employees, the student email address may continue to be used. This happens because you are still listed in the student group.
